電腦安全指點 – Instant Messaging Security
Instant Messaging Security Instant Messaging programs allow you to communicate with friends and workmates in real time. Examples of popular programs are: Yahoo Messenger, Microsoft Messenger, AIM, Skype, and QQ. When using an Instant Messaging program, you should follow these security rules to stay safe ... - Do not open documents (of any type) from people you don’t know.
- Do not reply to messages from people you don’t know.
- Do not run programs sent to you from people you don’t know. Preferably don’t even run programs sent to you from people you do know.
- Do not send private information about yourself, your friends, or your company using an Instant Messaging program (see Email Security for examples of private information). Reasoning: Most Instant Messaging programs send messages across the Internet in unencrypted form, which means that the messages can be read by ISPs and governments while travelling across the Internet.
- If you use Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, or AIM, seriously consider installing instant messaging encryption software such as Secway’s Simp Lite or Simp Pro. (N.B. Skype messages are always encrypted when travelling across the internet, so extra software like Simp is not needed.)
- Make sure your Instant Messaging account has a strong password (see Password Security).
- Avoid using IM programs of dubious origin such as QQ.
